Import contacts

Already have a contact list? Import them into Yeemel in just a few clicks.

CSV import#

  1. Go to the Contacts section
  2. Click Import
  3. Upload your CSV file
  4. Map the columns (email, name, phone, etc.)
  5. Start the import

CSV format#

Your file must contain at least an email column. Other optional columns:

  • Name (or separate first name + last name)
  • Phone
  • Company
  • Tags (comma-separated)

Example#

email,name,tags john@example.com,John Smith,"customer,premium" jane@example.com,Jane Doe,"prospect"

Manual addition#

You can also add contacts one by one:

  1. Contacts section > Add a contact
  2. Fill in the email and optional information
  3. Add tags if needed

Contact sources#

Your contacts can come from several sources, automatically tracked:

  • Import: imported via CSV
  • Form: signed up through your bio page or a form
  • Purchase: purchased a product
  • Manual: added by hand

Contact statuses#

Each contact has a status:

  • Active: can receive emails
  • Unsubscribed: clicked the unsubscribe link
  • Bounced: the email address is invalid or the mailbox is full
  • Complaint: reported your email as spam

Important: never re-subscribe an unsubscribed contact. This is a legal requirement (GDPR) and harms your sender reputation.

Custom fields#

Add extra information to your contacts with custom fields. For example: "Purchase date", "Product purchased", "Expertise level".
