Manage your segments

Segmenting your contacts allows you to send the right message to the right people.

Tags#

Tags are labels you attach to your contacts to categorize them.

Manual tags#

Add tags based on your criteria:

  • Topic: "marketing", "tech", "business"
  • Source: "youtube", "instagram", "podcast"
  • Level: "beginner", "advanced", "expert"
  • Status: "prospect", "customer", "VIP"

Automatic tags#

Yeemel automatically creates tags based on behavior:

  • interest:{link-name}: when a contact clicks 3+ times on the same link within 7 days
  • clicked:{product-name}: when a contact clicks on a product
  • buyer:{product-name}: when a contact purchases a product

Lists#

Lists are groups of contacts used to target sends.

Create a list#

  1. Contacts section > Lists tab
  2. Click New list
  3. Name your list (e.g., "Premium Customers", "Training Interested")
  4. Add contacts manually or by filtering

Use lists#

When you send a newsletter or configure a sequence, you can target:

  • All active contacts
  • A specific list
  • One or more tags

Segmentation best practices#

  • Start simple: 2-3 lists are enough at first (e.g., "Prospects", "Customers")
  • Use automatic tags: let Yeemel identify your contacts' interests
  • Segment by engagement: send different content to highly active vs. less active contacts
  • Clean up regularly: remove contacts who have been inactive for a long time to maintain good rates
